about

Generations United was recorded in March '92 at Sunburst Studios by Bob Wayne in Los Angeles. Roland Alphonso and Lester Sterling recorded in New York in May '92 and the rest of the English special guests recorded in July '92. It was mixed by Brad Ellis at Michael Honig's studio in Los Angeles in August '92. It was released in July '93 in Japan. Generations United encompasses Joey's concept of joining together the older and younger musicians of ska music. It displays a very strong line-up of the band with three years of Wednesdays under their belt playing at the now defunct King King Club in Hollywood, California. It contains classics like "Jack Lord Ska" and "Jump With Joey" the band's theme song still played to this day. Other favorites are "Ciao Marcello," Joey's tribute to La Dolce VIta, McNeil's "Pigeon CLub" and Altruda's "Summer Come Lovin'." All the songs were classic material heard during this period at the King King. Brad Ellis deserves special recognition for mixing this record; having to compile tapes from England and the U.S. that didn't always sync up.
